Feel the wind in your face on a bicycle

Along the rivers like Drau and Gail and around lakes like Ossiachersee it is beautiful and easy to cycle. When you like physical challenges, there are more than enough mountains to climb. And riding downhill on the many mountainbike trails is an impressive adventure!

Sun and snow on the ski slopes

Pension Almhof is surrounded by mountains. It is only 12 minutes drive to the closest ski lift leading to ski area Gerlitzen. And there are many more skiing areas to discover in our neighbourhood, like Bad Kleinkirchheim, three country point Arnoldstein, Nassfeld, Goldeck bei Spittal an der Drau, Katschberg and Turracher Höhe. And also just across the border in Slovenia and Italy are skiing areas to discover.

Lots of fun with snow and ice

For those who don’t like to ski there are lots of posiblities to enjoy the winter. At many places sledges can be rent on which many kilometers of trails can be covered. The many lakes where you can swim in summer turn into ice fields to be enjoyed on skates. And just walking in the snow in snowshoes, make you experience the winter wonder land.

Monkeys and birds at Burg Landskron

The mountain ruin Landskron at Treffen is beautiful to visit in itself. The walks around the castle are also well worthwhile, including breathtaking views of Lake Ossiachersee. But near this striking ruin is also a park with Japanese monkeys and you can enjoy an impressive bird show.
